My paintings are built up with loose layers of mark making, pattern and texture - created with a variety of tools and inspired by whatever catches my eye or captures my imagination. These unrestrained layers then give way to a more considered approach as I work towards completing the artwork.

I’m interested in the weathering of materials and surfaces - along with the elements that contribute to this deterioration and erosion - and the feelings and memories this can evoke .

I primarily use acrylic paint (occasionally with the addition of spray paint, gold leaf or printing ink) on MDF or wood panels.

I also use photography, illustration and collage to create limited edition screen prints. All prints are designed and hand-printed by me, using non-toxic, water-based inks on high quality Fabriano 5 watercolour paper.
